- It involves the 6V53 and 8V53 models
- In case of the inline 53 series engines, all the 6V53 and 8V53 engines serial numbers can also begin with the many cylinders that follow the “D” and so 6V53 engines can begin with 6D and also 8V53 engines can start with the “8D”.
- It is not the same as inline 53 models, but both of the V series models and makes can include the serial number at the front right of the bank deck at the engine.

- The serial number for different models starts from various cylinders that also denotes the letters “VA.” So, for instance, the 6V71 engine that begins with the “6VA” and 16V71 will begin with the “16VA” also.
- The numbers are also present on the right rear of the engine and also very close to the underneath air box located.
Know about the serial number of V92 series engines
- It involves the 6V92, 8V92, 12V92 and 16V92 make and model.
- The serial number for all such models can start with the number of cylinders that denotes the letters “VF.” Say, for instance, 6V92 will begin with the “16VF”. You must also note that difference arises in the turbocharged or aspire based number system that is also applicable to 92 series engines.
- The 92 series also includes the serial numbers at two different locations:
- Older drivers can also add them to the right rear of the engine and even a side of the block.
- The new engine also involves them to the right of the engine that is close to the bank and heads the mounts on which can also be the flat section at the block overall.
We are not exactly sure what serial number or year this location changed so if it is not in one area, check the next.
Know about the serial number of V149 series engines
- It involves the 8V149, 12V149 and 16V149 make and model.
- The serial number engaged for different models can always start with the number of cylinders that follows the letter “E” So, for instance, 12V149 will also begin with the “12E” and 16V149 will begin with the “16E”.
- The simple ones are DDC serial numbers to calculate:
- Upward facing and therefore removes the requirement to bend down and move to air box for finding it.
- The letters are more significant as compared to ease of reading.
- They are just situated at the front right bank of the engine part and also the front lower corner front valve part.
Know about the 50 and 60 engines:
As the 50 and 60 are comparatively younger age of the drivers as contrasted with DDC two-stroke engines, then the series 50 and series 60 are one of the simple versions to note. All such engines include the engine data plate that is on the valve covers.
